Plantation Walking Horse Club of New York State.

Great strength and stamina, quiet disposition and aptitude for the running walk, and the distinctive, incomparable "way of going"
that sets the Tennessee Walker apart from other breeds
in the horse world..

Organization Purpose

The purpose of  New York Plantation Walking Horse Club (NYSPWHC) is to increase the popularity of our common interests. We have fun when we are together and working on projects. By developing relationships and friendships, the organization will become even stronger. The Club consists of members who live throughout New York and northwestern Pennsylvania. We promote the enjoyment of the Tennessee Walking horse in its NATURAL way of going-on the Trail..in the Field...and in the Show Ring ! The Club was formed in the 70's as a social get-together for Plantation Tennessee Walking Horse fanciers. Most were trail riders, with a small number taking part in the shows. This is still very true with its present membership.

Our Mission

Our mission is to further promote the interests of our organization and our members to the community. We strive to make a difference by educating the public and expanding our reach. The club avidly supports and promotes the naturally gaited Pleasure Walking Horse and all the horses belonging to our members are barefoot, keg or lite shod.  NYSPWHC is a member of the New York State Horse Breeders Association and the New York State Horse Council.

NYSPWHC strongly supports the USDA’s Strategic Plan
and its efforts to enforce the Horse Protection Act
to eliminate both blatant & inconspicuous methods of soring
